The Forest of Arden will be magically brought to life this June and promises to be an enchanting evening for all ages.
Maples Hayes Hall Gardens
Playing from Wednesday 21 Jun 2017
“All the world’s a stage…” and Shakespeare in the Park once again intends to interpret that most famous of lines quite literally. For their 2017 production the company will take full advantage of the beautiful Italian Gardens at Maple Hayes Hall in order to stage an al fresco production of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’.
The play has always been a huge favourite with audiences, not least due to its warm pastoral comedy and hugely entertaining characters, as well as a plot that involves lovesick shepherds, gender-swapping disguises, exiled dukes and wrestling! The Forest of Arden will be magically brought to life this June and promises to be an enchanting evening for all ages.
Access to Shakespeare in the Park is via Abnalls Lane, Lichfield (please follow signs). The audience entrance is approximately 1 mile along Abnalls Lane. Audience members walking to the site are advised that the lane is on an incline (when approached from Lichfield) and traffic can become busy.
Seating is on straw bales to complement the setting. There is a bar on site and picnics before the performance are welcome.
