Devised by Ken Wragg and presented by professional company Role-Play, Ain't no Angels is based on the songs, loves and lives of Al Jolson and Frank Sinatra.
Ken Wragg has been music director for over 100 productions, worked in cabaret with such names as Dicky Henderson and Bernie Winters and has created musical arrangements for cabaret and radio.
Some of the area's noted actors and singers star in the show.
Paul Roberts, best known in Lichfield for his appearances at the Lichfield Proms in Beacon Park, features as Al Jolson and Paul Lumsden, who has taken lead roles in local operatic society productions, plays Frank Sinatra.
The versatile Craig Allen will don many guises as he weaves his way through the stories revealing the lives of the two famous singers.
Two of Lichfield Operatic Society's principal performers, Ruth Harvey and Jo McAllister, feature as the women in the lives of the two famous stars.
We'll see Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Ruby Keeler and Mia Farrow, among others.
The show features some of the two singers' most famous songs, including Jolson's April Showers, Swanee, I'm Sitting on Top of the World and Sonny Boy and Sinatra's I've Got You Under My Skin, Somethin' Stupid, Lady is a Tramp and Have You Met Miss Jones?
Be prepared for a dynamic start, emotional and gripping twists and an upbeat finale.
