A Century Of Popular Song (10C)

Duration: 120

This event will go off sale with Lichfield Garrick Box Office at 4pm on Monday 9th July. Tickets can be purchased from the venue on the door, subject to availability.

Artist in Residence Series

For the second event of their residency, Jessica Walker and accompanist Joseph Atkins journey through a scintillating Century of Popular Song, conjuring up the unique atmosphere of each decade from the Victorian music hall stages, to the heady 20s and 30s, through the darker war years, and into the swinging 60s and beyond. The programme embraces some of the greatest songs from both Europe and America – many famous, others obscure – including numbers by Noel Coward, Rodgers & Hart, Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel and Jake Thackray.

Join us at Swinfen Hall Hotel for a journey through the last century in song, accompanied by a sumptuous afternoon tea.

This event is presented by Lichfield Festival, with Lichfield Garrick acting as a ticket agent.
