Judith Weir was named Master of the Queen’s Music in 2014, the first woman to be appointed to the post. A writer of both instrumental and vocal music (with pieces featured in Events 9B and 9E), she talks about her life and gives us an insight into what it takes to become a great composer. She is joined on the platform by musician, writer and producer, Dr Kate Romano, a now familiar voice on Radio 3.
