Artist in Residence Series

Staffordshire-born auctioneer Tim Ingles joined Sotheby’s and became Head of Musical Instruments there in 1999, forming his own company Ingles & Hayday (ingleshayday.com), fine instrument specialists, in 2012. 

In this bespoke event for the 2018 Lichfield Festival, Tim talks about his career and passion for extraordinary and valuable instruments. His talk will also feature live music from violinist Joo Yeon Sir, playing a selection of Ingles & Hayday violins, giving a rare opportunity to experience and understand the contrast between each instrument’s unique sound.
