Lichfield Cathedral Chorus: Dvorák’s Stabat Mater

Antonin Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, his first work on a religious theme, written in 1876 in response to the death of his daughter. It focuses upon the Easter suffering of Mary at the foot of the cross and is a powerful, moving work.

In this concert on eve of Psalm Sunday, Lichfield Cathedral Chorus under the musical directorship of Ben Lamb will be joined by the musicians from Darwin Ensemble Chamber Orchestra and soloists.
