Toby Hughes started playing double bass at the age of nine & attended the Junior Conservatoire in Birmingham where he was bass section leader of the CBSO Youth Orchestra. He was also a member of the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain where he became Principal Bass. He has studied at the combined universities of Lausanne, Fribourg and Sion, in Berlin and at the Royal Northern College of Music. Toby has performed with major international orchestras both in Europe and the UK.  Accompanied by pianist Benjamin Powell.
