Designer (Set & Costumes)
JobsJob Description
Be part of our BIGGEST EVER festive season...
We're looking for an experienced theatre designer to work with the rest of the Shoddy creative team to create the physical/visual world for A Shoddy Nativity, a three-person, multi-role, multi-locational, chaotic, comedic retelling of the original Christmas story.
You'll be able to demonstrate a body of relevant professional experience, ideally including designing for highly theatrical, multi-role shows in intimate spaces. You'll be excited by the challenge of creating the school-nativity-gone-wrong world of this show and undaunted by working on a tight budget.
Following the huge success of last year's A Shoddy Christmas Carol, we're thrilled to be working with the hilariously talented Shoddy Theatre Company & The Production Garden once more to bring A Shoddy Nativity to our Studio this Christmas.
Key Dates:
- Design Process: to start as soon as possible
- White Card Model: 31 Jul
- Final Model & Drawings: 12 Sept
- Build Visit: TBC Oct/Nov
- Production Week: 30 Nov - 6 Dec
This role will be contracted by The Production Garden Ltd.
How to apply:
Please send an up-to-date CV: one-two sides of A4 (or equivalent) explaining your approach, ideas, and relevant experience, to recruitment@lichfieldgarrick.com together with a completed Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form which you can download below or from our website at www.lichfieldgarrick.com/get-involved/job-vacancies.

We strive for a fair hiring process that does not discriminate based on age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or personal circumstances, and shortlisting is anonymous. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply—especially if you’re passionate about the role and can tell us how you can make a difference.
