We will be updating this page regularly with FAQs and new information regarding the current regulations set in place by the UK government in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Lichfield Garrick Theatre is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our visitors & staff as our number one priority and this will be reflected in our actions. If you have a question about a booking, refund or payment you have made, you might find the answer here.

As we move towards being able to reopen our theatre, we are taking important and necessary steps to be a COVID-Secure venue. Click here to find out more.

Re-opening the Lichfield Garrick Theatre

Event cinema returns to Lichfield on 18th September with live shows following on Sunday 1st November.

The Box Office will be reopening on reduced hours, which for the month of September will be:

Fridays (phone calls only): 11am – 1pm

Saturdays (doors open): 11am-1pm

Takeaway coffees and snacks are available to purchase with your tickets. If you are visiting the Box Office, please wear a face covering.

Currently these are our only opening hours, but this may change over the coming weeks. If you have purchased tickets and wish to collect them, then please be aware that you will be only be able to do so during our Saturday opening hours for the time being.

Social distancing and patron safety are at the forefront of the Lichfield Garrick theatre’s reopening plan, with changes being made across the building to make it COVID-secure. This includes sanitiser stations, one-way systems, pre-ordered snacks and drinks via the website. Enhanced cleaning, PPE for staff and air extraction rather than recycling will reduce the opportunities for the virus to spread.

The theatre will be following government guidelines at the time of each event with regards to social distancing which may mean that some patrons will be asked to change their seat. The theatre will contact any patron affected prior to their event.

Please note that we are currently following the Rule of Six for all bookings. Parties bigger than six will have to be split over multiple seat bubbles. Please note that the Rule of Six also applies to Babes in Arms tickets and each child, regardless of age, must be counted as one member of your party. Please keep this in mind when making your booking - you are responsible for your own booking.

 Phone calls & emails

Following our difficult decision to cancel or reschedule all shows from March - October 2020, we are working hard to reschedule as many shows as possible for dates later this year or in 2021. Patrons will be contacted by email asking if they wish to swap their tickets to the new show date or receive a refund. If we do not have an email address associated with your account then we will contact you via phone call.

Each show is being dealt with individually. You may receive multiple emails and phone calls from us, but we will try and deal with as many shows as we can in one phone call to save you time.

All emails advising of show cancellations or date changes have a link attached where you will be asked whether you would like a refund to credit, a refund to your original payment method or whether you would like to donate all or part of your ticket price to the Lichfield Garrick arts charity.

Please be aware that, when you select refund to your original payment method via the link on your email, this does not automatically authorise the refund. All refunds must be manually processed, and you will receive an email letting you know when this has been done. You should see the money back in your account within seven working days of receiving the confirmation email.

If we do not receive a response from you within 7 days, we will automatically process a refund.

Thank you for your continued support.

Lichfield Garrick is an arts charity

As you know, Lichfield Garrick is an Arts Charity that relies on ticket sales to support its charitable objectives, so the closure of the theatre will have a significant effect on us. If you can, please consider to donating your ticket price to our charity so that the theatre can sustain itself during these times of uncertainty.

We recognise that this time of uncertainty affects everybody differently, but if you can help us remain a vital part of the community, we would be hugely grateful.

Below are a few ways that the charity supports the community with ticket sales income:

Dementia Friendly cinema screenings

Supported Internships for young adults with learning disabilities.

Helping people of all ages who would not be able to attend the theatre by their own means to enjoy our productions and films.

Making an accessible arts venue with relaxed, captioned and audio described performance and screenings.

Bursaries for young performers.

Building confidence and communication skills and combating social isolation and loneliness through arts.

If you would like to take part in any of our community activities that we’re continuing to run, including our Garrick Film Club, Storytime at the Garrick and Masterclass Mondays, then please head over to our Facebook and our YouTube channel to join in.

Thank you for your continued support of the Lichfield Garrick theatre arts charity.

Look after yourselves, stay safe and we’ll meet again soon.
