Job Description

Following a successful round of Trustee Recruitment in 2024, our Board and Executive team have been driving a period of significant growth and investment at the Garrick, including a major refurbishment of the venue’s front of house areas, achieving an annual audience of 150k for the first time in the theatre’s history, and drawing up plans for the Garrick charity to take on more control of the Garrick building and facilities to secure the venue’s future. Against that backdrop, and with further exciting developments on the horizon, we’re looking for a number of new Trustees to help us steer the Garrick confidently on the next stage of its journey.

If you share our enthusiasm for the performing arts, enjoy thinking strategically and working collaboratively, and can bring diverse professional and personal experience to our Board, then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re specifically looking for potential Trustees with professional experience in accounting & financial management, law & legal services, property management & development and charity governance. With the Garrick in such a strong position and with big plans for the future, this is a great opportunity to join our friendly team and help make a meaningful difference within the cultural life of Lichfield and the wider region.

We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of their background or whether they’ve been a trustee before. If you believe in the power of theatre to transform communities and think that more people should be able to engage with culture, we want to hear from you! We particularly encourage applications from Disabled, Black, Asian, and other global majority background candidates, as these groups are currently underrepresented within our team.

If you need any information in a different format, want support with your application, or simply want to discuss in advance any needs you may have to be able to take on a trustee role, please get in touch with Kerrie at recruitment@lichfieldgarrick.com.

All Board & Committee meetings are held in Lichfield with the option to access online.

These are unpaid voluntary roles.
