After a record-breaking panto run last year, Lichfield Garrick Theatre is gearing up for the return of its ever-popular Christmas Spectacular with Robin Hood.
This year’s panto promises hilarious comedy, beautiful costumes, fantastic music, beautiful costumes, magic and mayhem, and is scheduled to run at the Garrick from the 20th of November 2026 to the 10th January 2027.
We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our panto team as Wardrobe Assistant. This will be a fixed term contract beginning on the 2nd of November 2026 and ending on the 11th of January 2027.
Duties:
- All duties required of a member of the wardrobe team, directed by the head of wardrobe.
- Sorting of laundry, costume maintenance and dressing the cast members.
- Hand sewing and assisting with repairs.
- Costume alterations post fittings, during the two-week rehearsal period.
- Ability to follow a costume plot. Using the correct manual handling requirements to ensure the lifting and moving of costumes is done correctly and safely.
- You will be present for required prep dates during the rehearsal period, all tech and dress dates and all agreed performances, as per rota.
Essential Requirements:
- Strength and experience of working as part of a team
- Previous experience of working within a similar role.
- The ability to follow instructions and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements
- Excellent people skills
- A friendly positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time keeping
Key Dates:
Fittings and costume alterations: WC 2nd November – 13th November
Technical / Dress rehearsals: 16th November - 20th November
First public performance: 20th November 2026
Final public performance 10th January 2027
Get out / Ensuring all costumes are ready for storage: 11th January 2027
