Job Description

Support Young Talent

Lichfield Garrick is excited to share an opportunity to join our community engagement team as our Youth Theatre Co-Ordinator.

There has never been a more exciting time to be part of Lichfield Garrick. We are reaching wider audiences than ever before, with a programme that continues to grow in both scale and diversity year on year. Alongside this, we have a thriving community engagement programme, and we are proud to have been recognised with a regional Large Business of the Year award.

Recent achievements highlight our ambition and momentum. We have welcomed record-breaking audiences of 150,000 people, launched a national tour of one of our own home-grown productions, and co-produced the first professional UK musical production that is moving on to Edinburgh Fringe this year. We have also brought our pantomime production in-house and in 2024 we completed a large-scale refurbishment of all public areas of our building.

What to Expect

As Youth Theatre Co-Ordinator, you will ensure the smooth administration of our Lichfield Youth Theatre sessions on Sundays, supporting the Youth Theatre Leader in providing safe and enjoyable sessions.

You will work alongside the Community Engagement Manager to provide communication with participants and their parents/carers, plan and gather resources for end of term sharings or informal performances, and maintaining a good working knowledge of participants attendance and support requirements.

You will be willing and able to work alone on administrative tasks whilst having to switch to support sessions in the room as required. You will be positive, organised, and approachable and enjoy working with children from ages 7-18.

You will have understanding of, or willingness to learn about, safeguarding young people and health and safety (all relevant training will be provided). This role requires the successful candidate to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

In return we can offer you a genuinely interesting role which makes a fundamental difference to the youth theatre participants and other team members. The role will be required to work every Sunday in term time, 8 hours between 9am-6pm. There will be potential for occasional additional hours during the week, which will be paid as overtime.
