In Abenta, Ghana, families wake up each morning to begin their day with a long walk for water that isn't even safe to drink. Education is missed, illness rises, opportunities shrink.
Jo (the Garrick's Housekeeping Supervisor), alongside her mum Sheila, are taking on an enormous mission this November to put an end to this. But can they do it?

Jo & Sheila will reach Abenta on Tuesday 3 November before intermingling with the local people. With a packed itinerary consisting of creative sessions with the youngsters, quality time with the village elders, and of course the construction of a solar powered clean water system, there is no doubt this will be hugely impactful for the local community in Abenta.

Sub-Saharan Africa faces entrenched poverty, lacks education, clean water, and healthcare. Village by Village addresses these challenges in rural Ghana, uplifting communities, whilst striving for sustainable development.

"It's easy to take for granted things like clean drinking water. That's why working with Sustainable Change and Village by Village is such an exciting initiative to be part of. I can't wait to see the difference we make. Thank you for your support."
