The Lichfield Garrick is delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new Creative Hub: an accessible space designed to extend the theatre’s creative and community work into the heart of the city.

Located a stone’s throw from the Garrick, the new Creative Hub provides a versatile space for professional productions, community groups and the next generation of creative talent. Featuring an air conditioned rehearsal studio with dancefloor, and meeting rooms, the Creative Hub offers the perfect space for workshops, classes, meetings and exhibitions.

Rehearsals for this year’s highly anticipated festive shows (Robin Hood & A Shoddy Nativity) are already underway on site and, following the success of its first home-produced musical Disenchanted! earlier this year, the Garrick team expect to be developing and rehearsing other new musicals there in future, putting creativity at the heart of Lichfield.

The Creative Hub also offers an accessible home for the hugely popular Garrick Youth Theatre and will be used regularly by South Staffordshire College performing arts courses, providing young people opportunities to connect, use their imagination, and get creative.

Daniel Buckroyd, Artistic Director and CEO of the Garrick said, “having this space means that we can both expand the opportunities we offer the communities we serve here in Staffordshire and play a bigger role in the creation of new works that will inspire and engage audiences in the years ahead.”

With community at the heart of much of what the Garrick does, the Creative Hub is also there to support local groups, amateur societies, youth theatres, community groups, and individual artists who might need a bespoke space designed to bring their creative ideas to life.
