What's your connection to / interest in the Garrick?
Lichfield is home — I went to school at King Edward's and, after many years living and working in London, returning when my family was young was an easy decision. The city has so much to offer culturally and I have always been a passionate theatregoer, not least at the Garrick itself. I love seeing friends perform with local amateur dramatic groups and being part of a community that genuinely values its arts scene. Joining the board feels like an exciting step which allows me to contribute to a valuable part of the fabric of our local community.
What's your professional experience?
I am a commercial lawyer and supply chain expert at a large national law firm and specialise in strategic complex contracts cross sector but in particular tech and consumer brands. My career has been exciting and I’ve worked on large US and international firms in London and Brussels and also held a senior European General Counsel role within a global listed business. My breadth of legal, compliance and commercial experience allows me to bring a balanced and pragmatic approach to managing both risks and opportunities to the Garrick's board as the organisation continues to grow.
What are you most excited about for the Garrick?
I am genuinely excited about the Lichfield Garrick's potential to deliver transformational cultural experiences for everyone in and around Lichfield. The opportunity to widen outreach, engage with expanding and diverse local communities and to help shape how it does this in exciting new ways appeals to me. I believe a truly thriving local arts scene benefits the whole city and surrounding areas and people of all ages. I have been hugely impressed by the talent, commitment and ambition of the board, management team and existing trustees and I cannot wait to work alongside them to continue their great work and realise ambitious to take the Garrick to the next level.
