Lichfield Garrick Youth Theatre presents
Playing from Tuesday 25 Apr 2017
Omigod you guys! Elle Woods is coming to the Lichfield Garrick for the first time!
The award-winning Lichfield Garrick Youth Theatre proudly present the West End and Broadway smash hit musical comedy, Legally Blonde.
When the beautiful and popular sorority sister Elle Woods gets dumped by her boyfriend Warner for a more ‘serious' girlfriend, she is left with only one logical choice - she packs up her pooch and bags herself a place at the prestigious Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back her man. But what she finds there is so much more.
Legally Blonde has had an array of productions all over the world since its 2007 Broadway opening. Based on the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, the story of love, faith and pushing past stereotypes has being capturing the hearts of theatregoers ever since. LGYT has a reputation for the highest standard and quality of it's productions, rivalling some professionally produced theatre. This production is helmed by Julie Mallaband who has Directed many of the youth theatre's award winning productions, including Les Miserables and Oliver! She is once again joined by youth theatre chairman Oliver Rowe (Musical Director) and regular collaborator Jessica Lambert (Choreographer). A cast of 40 highly talented young performers will sing and dance their way through the upbeat, incredibly fun score supported by our usual first class band and lots of pink and glitter of course! Oh, and lets not forget - the dogs!
This witty, fun-filled and feel-good production is about following your dreams and staying true to yourself. In Elle's world, anything is possible and the feeling is infectious. So bend and snap up your tickets today for this must-see show of the season
Here's what the press said about the original productions:
