Top Hat Open Mic will take place in the Garrick’s Studio, a professional stage that offers performers the kind of lighting, sound and atmosphere to really make their work shine. You’ll be quite literally stepping into the spotlight on the night, surrounded by an audience in the round.

Joss Musgrove Knibb will again be hosting and organising this event. She commented: ‘We want to make sure that everyone who comes along gets their chance to step up to the mic, so names will be drawn from a top hat live on stage to make sure the process is as fair as possible.

To ensure you’re in the running, book your place or add your name to the list at the door on the night. All names will then go into the hat, ready to be drawn. Whether you’d like to share your work, or you’d just like to enjoy an evening of beautiful words in a great setting, we’re looking forward to meeting you on the 15th.

When booking, please enter the names of anyone wishing to perform poetry on the night. There are limited spaces available which will be drawn at random from a hat on the night. If there is no-one in your booking wishing to read on the night then just enter ‘None’ when indicated in the booking process.
