Keen to boost his flagging career, fading Hollywood action hero, Jefferson Steele, arrives in Stratford to play King Lear. But this Stratford has no river, swans, Kenneth Branagh or Dame Judy Dench. More importantly it’s not the home of the RSC and William Shakespeare. He’s in Stratford Village, Dorset, where the Stratford Players hope he’ll help them save their theatre. But can he overcome his monstrous ego to play King Lear with this bunch of amateurs?
